Burnin' Daylight

I took my photo references for this painting at Sombrero Ranch in Colorado.   On this chilly morning the cowboys were doing their best to round up the horses, but this pinto escaped multiple times taking the herd with him.  This resulted in having to chase them all down over a vast acreage and try to get them to the corrals again (and again, and again).  Many cowboy expletives could be heard in the process.  One cowboy finally did manage to rope the pinto.  I took these shots just as he got the rope on him.  The pinto was still very resistant (and most unhappy), but they finally got him corraled.
